All About Us
Family Literacy & Family Partnerships
At KinderPrep, we believe that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. We take great pride in building meaningful partnerships with families and our educational team to create a learning environment where every child feels known, valued, and supported.
Family literacy begins with listening. We take the time to learn about each family’s traditions, culture, language, experiences, interests, and knowledge. We invite families to share their stories and experiences with us so that we can incorporate their knowledge and traditions into our curriculum, lesson planning, classroom experiences, and everyday routines.
When children see their families, cultures, and experiences reflected in their learning environment, they develop a stronger sense of belonging and connection. These relationships help children build language, confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning.
Inspired by Montessori
Our program is inspired by the Montessori philosophy, particularly the belief that children thrive when they are given opportunities to develop independence, make meaningful choices, and participate in hands-on experiences.
We carefully consider the quality and organization of our environment so that it invites children to explore, practice, discover, and learn. Everyday life skills are an important part of our curriculum. Children are encouraged to participate in real experiences such as caring for their environment, preparing materials, working alongside others, solving problems, and taking responsibility for their own belongings and classroom community.
These experiences support not only independence, but also social-emotional development, confidence, concentration, coordination, and a growing sense of capability.
Inspired by Reggio Emilia
We are also inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, especially the belief that learning is a process of discovery and that children have many ways of expressing their thinking, ideas, and understanding.
We value the process as much as the finished product. Rather than focusing on what a child is expected to create, we are interested in how they think, explore, experiment, communicate, problem-solve, and make connections along the way.
Our educators observe each child closely and use those observations to provide thoughtful materials, questions, experiences, and opportunities that extend learning. We believe children are capable thinkers and active participants in their own education.
Learning at Each Child’s Own Pace
Every child develops differently. We honor each child’s individual pace, interests, strengths, and emerging skills while providing the support they need to move forward.
Our educators act as partners in discovery. We scaffold learning by meeting children where they are, building upon what they already know, and introducing materials and experiences that encourage critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and deeper exploration.
We provide open-ended materials that can become many things in a child’s imagination—inviting children to construct, investigate, create, pretend, collaborate, and embark on their own imaginary adventures.
At KinderPrep, we believe that learning happens through relationships, meaningful experiences, hands-on exploration, and the joy of discovery.
Our goal is not simply to prepare children for their next classroom. Our goal is to help children develop the confidence, independence, curiosity, social-emotional skills, and love of learning that will support them throughout their lives.
